Product Care

The best way to preserve your Jim Greens is through regular and correct polishing. Water, heat and wear remove the natural oil from the leather, so when the tiny fibres dry out they become hard, brittle and break easily, thereby shorten the life of the leather.
For our leather boots we recommend any natural shoe polish found at your local store. For our suede options we suggest light brushing to remove dirt and a scotchguard for longer protection.
After a long day in wet conditions and you requiring your boots early the next morning, the worst possible solution is to artificially dry your boots. Leather fibres burn easily – especially when wet and therefore should never be left near a heater, placed in your oven or left in direct sunlight. For the best results, footwear should be dried out slowly and never subjected to any extreme heat. Should you work in constantly wet conditions, it is best to alternate between two or more pairs of our Jim Green boots.

We realise that buying footwear online is a daunting task and we are often asked to recommend a size by new Jim Green customers. If you happen to purchase a pair of Jim Green boots online and they do not fit, we will happily exchange them for you. If the measurements fall in-between the lengths provided, we do offer half sizes on certain styles. We can recommend a size but we can’t guarantee the fit.

    I ordered these a few months ago direct from The US. The shipping was faster than expected and Gareth went far beyond the level of customer service and communication that I’m accustomed to when buying shoes online. As for the shoes themselves; they’re excellent. I wear a UK 9.5 in the Vellies, but went for the size 10 (translates to a size 11 US) and they fit perfectly. The steel-cap is done right. It’s sized well to properly cover your toes. I’ve had problems in the past with other steel-caps that weren’t long enough and it caused some of my toenails to catch on the edge (after the felt lining had worn through)and it was painful. The leather is nice and thick and well stitched. One feature I’m particularly fond of is the fully gusseted tongue. The rubber soles are really tough and the shoes look really good too. Stylish. For the price these are a steal. Personally I like them much better than other much more expensive brands that are a lot less well-made, and are basically just for fashion. These are real safety shoes. As with my other Jim Greens they do go through a period where the leather gets salt marks and a little bumpy. This is on account of the fact that I do live in a moist climate, but I can assure you that with repeated applications of leather conditioner and polish that the bumps and salt marks go away and it’s not a problem. I highly recommend these. Thanks.

Standard shipping, returns and exchanges are free in South Africa for all orders over R500. All Jim Green products purchased will be shipped to the supplied delivery address within 5-7  working days from date of payment.

Returns & Replacements

Any product may be returned for credit, exchange or refund within 12 months from the date of purchase provided that the merchandise is unused and is returned in its original box/wrapping together with a valid invoice.

International Orders

We do ship internationally by use of a private courier.
